HTCI was founded by Namigadde Joyce, an experienced social worker who hails and grew up in this very community. Having suffered while growing up in this community with vast forms of abuse and poverty, Joyce was privileged to have completed her university education and begin to work which gave her a chance to look back at the challenges of the community that hindered many children, especially girls, to complete even the lowest level of education.
