HTCI is a child centred organisation that provides possible solutions to vulnerable children who are in need of alternative care and addresses the adverse challenges facing children living in instituted care. HTCI supports and promotes family preservation through a community led family care system for children without parental care.

We are approved by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development to care for children under residential care as a last resort. Many children end up being abandoned, stranded, neglected, and orphaned with no family to take care of them.  We have children from the age of 0 to 17 years.

However, we believe that all children grow better while in family care, and by so doing, we follow the Alternative Care guidelines by Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development. We consider reuniting children with their families and seeking for community available options of care. Bringing these children into residential care is the last resort. We do trace and reunify the children with their families and also promote foster care for adoption to give a chance to every child to stay in a caring family.
